At risk of sounding morbid, this can be a place for us to memorialize, post good memories, and otherwise share our thoughts and feelings about the passing of celebrities and famous people who may have influenced us in some way. Rather than have separate threads scattered around that get varying levels of attention, and rather than perhaps feeling a bit guilty about certain folks not getting more than a passing chatbox mention, let's gather all such sentiment in one place.

What a strange year, after several musicians and Alan Rickman it seems now we are losing authors.

Been a heavy year for losses already. RIP all.

The older you get the more famous people die as when you were a kid/teen you didn't know as many famous people and if you did a lot of them would be youngish or at least healthy enough to sing/act/write/dance but after 10-15 years you feel like more and more famous people are dying when it's just the same amount (or at least the same percentage due to population growth) as 10-20 years ago.

RIP Sir George Martin, the 5th Beatle, a true music legend.

Another musical blow, Keith Emerson died today, at 71, of suspected suicide.

Frank SInatra Jr just died...

Chyna of WWF fame has died of a suspected overdose.
