Site Update: SSL / HTTPS

Hey everyone! This afternoon we installed an SSL certificate for
This Old Neon. Just a little bit of cute security. Shouldn't actually impact you at all in practice!
One thing you'll want to do is update your bookmark!
The secure link is
https://thisoldneon.com/forum
If you run into any problems, dead links, or server errors while trying to load various pages across the forum, let me know or post here, and I'll try to investigate.

The redirect page after initially logging in kept crashing out on me. I had to click on the banner before redirecting to get in.

Hmm, there's only one thing I can think of that could cause that. Try now and let me know if the redirect works.

Currently, whenever I go to the site I have to login every time, and if I don't click on the banner during the redirect page immediately after logging in, I'll be logged out by the time the page loads. On my Samsung phone, Google chrome. Haven't tried a different browser yet.

The forum was like this for me for months after it first launched. Still logs me out from time to time. It's weird. Seems like such an easy thing.

That is weird! It's never happened to me. I'm logged in every time without fail. Like you said though, a small handful of people were complaining about that happening pre-SSL too, so I doubt it's caused by that. I might investigate removing the automatic redirect altogether.

It should go without saying, but everyone should try clearing your cookies and cache in your browser settings. This may or may not help with getting logged out, but it should help with getting logged in and general forum behaviour, since your browsers could be getting confused between cached http:// stuff and the https:// the forum is primarily running on now.
