This game had been sitting on the backlog for awhile! Glad to have finally beaten it. 3D Dot is great because it asks and answers the question "What if Zelda 1 were actually good?" A very fun, very "gamey" adventure. Would recommend to anyone. Shame this never got a PS4 remaster!

Finally managed to knock this out. Getting the credits in this game is a bit of a slog, but I'm a fan of most of the tracks. The rhythm gameplay is as solid as ever too. Typically I offer a recommendation for or against a game in these clear thread posts, but I think this is a game for which the target audience is small and already super clear on whether or not they want it. If you're part of that, get it, I guess! It's exactly what you think it is.

This game also has a pretty easy (if a bit grindy) platinum, so I'll be trying to snag that in the next few days.

What an absurd game this was. It most certainly lived up to that billing. As a person that can occasionally enjoy reveling in faux-jingoism (even as that gets harder to do these days), this was particularly fun for me, especially since this game is about overthrowing an American government lost to tyranny. I really enjoy this game as a lens into international perception of mid-2000s America as well. I was only a pre-teen when this game came out, so I wasn't nearly politically aware enough to be able to appreciate that fully at the time, so in that sense, I'm glad this was localized now that I can better understand it. On the other hand, it's also not particularly rhetorically deep, which generally works in its favor. It's a stupid, stupid game, and the mechanics aren't especially good, but I can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone that is willing to put up with some clunk in order to see its goofy story. I'm certainly glad I did.

Finished the basic story of SMM2, lots of levels left to finish though! It was a fun story mode and actually gave me a lot of ideas for levels, despite me not spending a lot of time making levels this time around.

Also, fun DLC for The Messenger. Only took a couple hours but offered a good challenge and some good tunes.
