I had to go with Dragon Warrior on this one. Castlevania is good but it didn’t grab me and my life the way Dragon Warrior did. Dragon Warrior captured my imagination and beyond that it was simply fun. I love Castlevania but it got beat here.

Only one vote is a killer. Some tough choices here.
I'll have to sit on it for a while, but I think I have to go with the Dark Souls trilogy. In one part because it fits the trilogy nicely - all mainline games with a connecting story, not spliced together to be a makeshift trilogy.
The games are fantastic, fairly unique, offer a ton of content and challenge, and new things can be found with each play through.
Mario and DKC trilogies are good, but Dark Souls feels like a standout. I also don't like to use nostalgia when rating experiences, so I feel Dark Souls holds up really well as games you can play today. So maybe in another 10 years these games will be outclassed, but as of right now I think they hold up as the trilogy with the best quality.

I agree. One thing the
Dark Souls trilogy does well
as a trilogy is that each game steadily makes improvements and tweaks to the mechanics, interface, and performance to the previous game, so it feels like you're playing a nice steady progression from one game to the next, even if the story only intersects in typically (for this series) opaque ways.

Worthy winner I'd say. Like I said before, it gets an edge for not only being great, but a great connected trilogy.
