Heh, this is an interesting one.

I found The Messenger to be hilarious with the banter between the player character and the merchant. Honestly looked forward to finding the shop in every level just to see what he had to say. The story twists are also funny in a "this is crazy" sort of way.

Kid Icarus Uprsing
- Every stage is packed with never ending banter between Pit, Palutena and the other gods. I can't definitely see people hating the dialogue, but I loved the humor. Self aware and fourth wall breaking, witty banter and an off the walls story. They did a great job of injecting new life into these NES characters. I like that the style extends itself to Smash Bros as well with the Pit and Palutena conversations.

West of Loathing - lots of soft chuckles in this one. It has sort of a dungeon master approach to it's dialogue, always explaining what you're doing in sometimes detailed, sometimes extremely simple terms. Very funny, and the stick figure art style just adds to it.

It's a comedy anime game with some light tactical gameplay layered over top.

Conker's is one of the least funny lowbrow games ever to have dumped all of its eggs into the easy comedy cash-in basket. IMO.

Disgaea is pretty funny, Disgaea 2 is hilarious (imo) at least in the main storyline. It's also a lot of dungeon grinding/leveling up which isn't for everyone. But great voice acting and fun gameplay that can make the hours disappear pretty quickly. Worth a try if you can get it.

It's currently losing to Paper Mario and Maniac Mansion which is kinda shocking to me :/

I never thought I'd call Disgaea underrated, but in this context (this context, this community), lots of Nintendo folks have played Paper Mario and know what it is, and lots of old geezers have played Maniac Mansion and remember it as an early paragon of videogame comedy.

PS: That bitter feeling of seeing a beloved game losing to undeserving opponents is uniquely characteristic of the "BGE!!!"'s masochistic appeal.

This is what I feel about Fable TLC. :( (not funniest game but in other categories.)

Speaking of which, here I am voting for the Maniac Mansions and LISA. Even though the humour was literally the best thing about the Disgaea games, I can't say I was a big fan of them otherwise.

Guildmaster Story is a comical little free-to-play puzzle story game. Decent if you want to read some jokes on the couch for a few minutes at a time.
