Celeste is probably going to be a front-runner for this whole category. Dark Souls III isn't the best Dark Souls game, but even a second-rate entry in the franchise is a head and shoulders above many other games. Monster Hunter: World is an excellent social grind.

Rocket League is an awesome phenomenon although I don't hear as much about it as I used to. I guess its sun has started to set?

God of War is a good all-round adventure. Nice to see that someone still makes these "prestige" single-player epics. Guacamelee! is one of the best-designed overall indie games.

Bloodborne isn't the best Souls game either, but it's close, and in this field it's an easy vote down the line. Into the Breach is a nice snack-sized tactical game but I didn't find it had the same longevity that some people enjoyed out of it.
