Hey everyone! I want to get your feedback. We were discussing in the chat the other day about how we could use some new smilies. What if we just pirate some emojis, whole-hog? We pretty much just have to snag the images. Dirty.
If we do such a thing, which emoji style should we filch?

Re: Community Feedback: Replacing Smilies w/ Emoji
I'm cool with Google or Twitter. Apple has easily the ____WORST____ emoji catalog (but, unfortunately, also the most pervasive in pop culture, I think). Unfortunately, I see I am being vastly outvoted, so I guess we're gonna use Apple's trash-ass emojis.
Re: Community Feedback: Replacing Smilies w/ Emoji
I don't hate the Apple emoji, but I legit think the Facebook ones are pretty epic. Very colourful and expressive. I guess it helps that they're immense.

I actually agree with you on this. My only gripe with fb is that their emoji set is very incomplete compared to the full set of existing Unicode emoji. Otherwise, yes, I think their emojis are pretty great. For that matter, if it comes down to it, I'd vote for FB over Apple, for sure.Kong Wen wrote:I don't hate the Apple emoji, but I legit think the Facebook ones are pretty epic. I doubt I'll be incorporating a 100% complete Unicode emoji set here, just for the record, certainly at least to start.Claytone wrote:I actually agree with you on this. I shamefully voted apple just because that's what I'm familiar with. I'm fine with whatever option.

I don't use these things except here in the chat, so I'll let you guys suss it all out. I did want to chime in and say that Spore's choice is the correct one, whetever it's from. Based solely on that one image.
Re: Community Feedback: Replacing Smilies w/ Emoji
This is kind of moot now, given that the new board fully parses emoji. So if you're posting from your phone, or if you have an emoji keyboard installed in your browser, you can just use the real thing without having to use the forum's smilies interface as a work-around.
