The Legend of Zelda Quarterfinals

Post by This Old Neon »

The Legend of Zelda series is somewhat unique among big series with lots of games in that the level of quality is relatively consistent (i.e. high). What better way to flex our “BGE!!!” Project muscles?
  • You can vote for one (1) game in each poll.
  • The winner of each poll will advance to the Semifinals.
  • You can’t change your votes once they’ve been submitted, so click carefully. Voting closes on Saturday at 11:59 P.M. ADT.
A LINK TO THE POLLS

A Link to the Wind
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES, 1991)
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GCN, 2002)

The Old and the New
The Legend of Zelda (NES, 1986)
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Wii U/Switch, 2017)

A Link Between Islands

Voting for A Link to the Past, A Link Between Worlds, and Link's Awakening DX for sure.

The OG Zelda vs. Breath of the Wild poll is a tricky one, because I think Breath of the Wild does represent a return to form for the series that kind of lost its way for a while. At the same time, it's tough for any game in this series to measure up to the original, which was simply so brilliant in its conception and execution that even subsequent games in the series have a hard time matching its thrilling spirit of adventure (often veering too hard into "story" territory).

Yeah, original it is.

I voted for all the opposite games! I agree original LOZ is a good match for BOTW, but I went with the game I would rather play again today, and it's BOTW.
