Welcome to the #BGE2020 Elimination Round of 256!
Each game is seeded based on its performance in the two opening rounds of pools. Every game in the Upper Bracket has defeated multiple other games in 1-on-1 polls to get to this point. These are still the best of the best.
Polls are updated weekly, typically on Sunday or Monday. Check back throughout the week to make sure you don't miss a vote!
HOW TO VOTE
This is easy. You only get one vote per poll. The game with the most votes wins. In the event of a tie, the higher seed advances, so don't get complacent!

Doom is fantastic. A great maze game and crowd control shooter. The breadth of the custom levels are astounding too.
I never thought I would feel this way, but now I know. Now I know. I never thought I would see things as I see them now, but now I know. I never thought I would hurt so bad, but now I know. Now I know.

Unreal Tournament is actually good, but it doesn't exist without Doom... and Doom is the better game overall. Share's point about the custom levels is icing on the cake—there are still people releasing new Doom wads in 2023.

Doom is just Doom. It holds up as a good game today which is insane. Never played Unreal but I feel pretty comfortable voting against it here.

Re: Top 256 — Week 1 — Poll 18
I remember sneakily playing Doom on the library computers during study hall in high school. Actually, I remember playing a lot of things there - Leather Goddesses of Phobos, another Infocom game (see Zork), for one. I really enjoyed the original UT and got to be quite good at the Instagib CTF variant, but Doom is one of the most influential games of all time.
