Eh, whether you think it wouldn't hinder the game significantly doesn't change the fact that it's a core Super Mario Bros. design element. Removing the ability to carry Koopa shells, or removing invincibility stars wouldn't hinder the game significantly either (in the sense that you could still design Mario-like levels without them), but they would be glaring omissions.

The whole point of this game is (rather, should have been) to have the full suite of Super Mario Bros. level creation tools at your disposal.

Those are slopes.

Slopes and checkpoints are the two most glaring omissions.

Yes, and would have been easy to add I would think. I'm saying it would be more difficult to add slopes with rounded edges and varrying curves. At a minimum diagonal blocks should be in for rudementary slopes.

I hope they add it in, but I don't think it's likely.

No checkpoints, either? *facepalm*

With all these weird omissions I wish I could see the downloads per day for Lunar Magic over the next couple weeks. Maybe it won't die out after all.

But... but.... you can STACK eenemies in Mario Maker. Can you do that with Lunar Magic?

I hope my intended sarcasm went through...

I'm not going to promise that you can do these things with JUST Lunar Magic, but with an assortment of tools people can get pretty silly.

I think the big thing Super Mario Maker offers is an official community for custom Mario levels, along with a simple interface to use the tools. I think projects like Lunar Magic will stay alive because of their tight knit communities, for the same reasons Project M continues to be a thing.

With this title we can only hope Nintendo listens to user feedback, because lots of people are disappointed with the lack of slopes and checkpoints. Considering how they've approached Mario Kart, Smash bros. and Splatoon, I do think we'll see them make some adjustments based on user feedback.

If you have Prime you save 10 bucks!
I actually just noticed this when I looked at my cart. Now I save 30% off $60 instead of $70! $43 ain't bad for the game.

I noticed I also saved $5 off Happy Home Designer.

There's a day 1 patch for this game now that changes the rate at which you gain new tools. Instead of getting new tools every day for 9 days, you get new tools roughly every 15 minutes of play time. So it takes about 2 hours now instead.
