Zero Mission is indeed good. But it's one among many Metroid games, some of which are even better than Zero Mission. There are no other Shadows of the Colossusses. It's a grand, beautiful adventure. It distills what's great about these kinds of games—what makes the adventure thrilling, what makes the player feel powerful. There's no fat on it.

Shadow of the Colossus is a great idea and is very good at certain things, but playing it is pulling teeth. It's just hard to tell if you're attached much of the time.
