Re: Round 6: The Ceryneian Hind
This is a sad one, because I know I'd be likely to vote for Dragon Quest VIII and maybe Metal Gear Solid 3 if I had played them, but I simply haven't gotten there yet.
As it stands, I voted for Space Invaders, because it's one of the most influential games of all time and still holds up as a pretty fun shmup. It's iconic. I also voted for Ms. Pac-Man because it's one of the best classic arcade games of all time, blowing its predecessor out of the water. Love that game. I have a lot of personal nostalgia for it as well.
Finally, I voted for Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen. This game knocked my socks off when it first came out. I already had some strategy and tactical game experience when I played this, but this one was so unique and engrossing that I couldn't put it down. I went through the order and chaos paths and did my best to get everything possible. I kind of turned the game inside-out. The music is also fantastic!
This one has been stuck in my head for decades.

About time Ogre Battle showed up, if it weren't for old Kong up there I might have never gave it a look. It's easily tied for number one in my top twelve SNES games.

I went with a solo vote here for the mighty and impeccable Dragon Quest VIII. I can't wait for DQX on PS4. It looks to have the same spirit and, if it does, I'll lose a couple hundred hours of my life.
I never thought I would feel this way, but now I know. Now I know. I never thought I would see things as I see them now, but now I know. I never thought I would hurt so bad, but now I know. Now I know.

Snake Eater and GX make this an easy vote. Two of my absolute favorites for sure.

Ms. Pac Man and Space Invaders get their requisite votes, while F-Zero GX remains a personal passion play. Let's get this masterpiece in deep!
Re: Round 6: The Ceryneian Hind
Ogre Battle was... well, Ogre Battle. It's one of the few games that brings back fond memories of rental stores, the only place I had been able to find it, with the inherent fear and paranoia that some other bastard has grabbed the game before you and erased everything.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is by far and away one of my favorites of the last gen. Aside from Gears of War, there hasn't really been many other games that have gotten me amped up during multiplayer in the same way. I'm not sure if they were just that intuitive for me, but so many hours were spent just annihilating other teams. I've only found a few games since that have sucked me into the multi that deep, and even then, none of them kept me playing as long as CoD4 did.
