Alternative consoles (e.g. Ouya), arcades, board gaming, card games, cross-platform, pen & paper, pinball, retro gaming, tabletop, and any other form of gaming that doesn't fit the other categories can be discussed here.
Feel free to take this question however you like quality or quantity. Obviously the SNES didn't have quantity but you may have decided Star Fox 2 was quality enough to give it the best lineup of the year over the 100's of titles of other consoles.
Notes:
iOS and Android were put together as I don't know of many big named exclusives for either phone and I generally don't expect it to get votes of the others.
Playstation 3 was originally going to have its own option however I am led to believe every PS3 game release was released on the Playstation 4.
Xbox 360 was originally going to have its own option however I am led to believe every XB360 game release was released on the Xbox One.
Super Nintendo was added due to the fact Star Fox 2 was a big deal and I felt like ignoring it seemed unfair.
Playstation Vita has gotten a handful of exclusives this year hence why it wasn't grouped in the PS4 group.
Separating Windows, Linux and Mac seemed silly as I don't think we have any Linux/Mac users here.
Removed Wii U all together as it got 4 games all year, 2 of which didn't release on switch so it was hard to group them together.

3DS had a decent lineup but was small and other than Metroid Samus Returns the lineup doesn't interest me much and I can't see Metroid being such a good game that I think the 3DS had the best lineup on that alone.
Mobile had some decent games however they either were super P2W or boring.
PC is a weird one as it gets pretty much every game PS4 gets bare some exclusives however I barely played on my PC this year and if I did I was playing Overwatch which was a 2016 game.
Which left PS4 and Switch and the fact is Super Mario Oydssey, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and Skyrim have just been a huge factor of this year for me that the PS4 just hasn't been able to do for me. Add on Xenoblade 2 when i finally play it and I don't think the PS4 can compete.
PC and PS4 are the obvious winners this year in terms of having a ridiculously high volume of high-quality titles.
Switch gets an honorable mention for having a small handful of exceptional games, but that's nowhere near enough to put it into the same category as established juggernauts that are already firing on all cylinders.

I thought I originally posted this here my bad.
No worries, I only posted that note so people wouldn't think the thread disappeared, not to chide or anything.

I wonder if a multi vote would be good for this thread!
Switch for me took it home, but it was a stellar year all around. Ps4 was stacked as well with neir, nioh, horizon and persona 5.
If other people want multi vote or weighted you then please post below. My original thought was that the question is asking for the best hence only one but I'm happy to change it to whatever people want.
