I'd play you in PM netplay, Spore. I'm finally home from Seattle, so once I get around to downloading an ISO and getting everything running, I'll let you know.
I'm still settling back in and seeing people and such, so it may be a couple days yet, but I'll keep you posted.
I'd also play you in Smash 4, but my preferred games are Melee/PM.

I'd be okay with playing, but be warned, I'm just north of Portland, Maine whereas you're north of Portland, Oregon. There will be some latency.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Discussion
What are everyone's thoughts on getting either a league or a Tournament going? There's at least 6 of us with the Wii U version of the game for sure. (I don't have Brawl or Project M)
I liked the structure we had for some of the tournaments back in the VC-forum days. It was 1v1 stock which worked out nice because everyone was able to just arrange times during the week that they would be able to play with others. although something like a 4 player free for all would be better for those who aren't as good with the game, 1v1 is probably the easiest way to go considering our different timezones and schedules. Shouldn't be much of a time commitment for any of us since it only takes a couple minutes to play a round of Smash.
So I guess I'm just wondering if there's enough interest here to get something like this going. If there is we can start discussing how to set it up and all the different rules. I might have one or two friends that would be willing to join in on this as well. I'm thinking a Tournament with an end date in mind would get more people playing than to simply have weekly sessions or something, but that's an option too.
If there's not enough of us maybe we could discuss having a Smash 3DS tournament. I'm not sure if as many people have that version of the game, but there's definitely more people with 3DS's over Wii U's.

I'd be down for playing in a Smash U tournament.
During the old Yogurt Cup days, we had a round of round robins—everyone would have to play at least one match vs. everyone else within the first week. Then we broke out into brackets. Basically each round had to be completed within a week, but it was up to you to work together with the others to schedule your matches.

Yeah I definitely liked that format. Gave everyone a good opportunity to get their matches in, could do one match every night or a bunch throughout a couple days.Kong Wen wrote:I'd be down for playing in a Smash U tournament.

I'm in for Smash. I'm also in for friendlies. It doesn't always need to be competitive tournament play!
Re: Super Smash Bros. Discussion
Worth noting, our tournaments aren't really going to be super competitive. I plan on losing every match. But still, playing is fun. Structured friendlies.Spore wrote:I'm in for Smash. I'm also in for friendlies. It doesn't always need to be competitive tournament play!

Anyone interested in getting a couple casual games going this weekend? I'm good all through Friday and Sunday morning-afternoon.
